Cultural spaces in regional towns are vital for community bonding and economic growth. Drawing on a funding allocation from the federal government, the Bega Valley Shire in southern New South Wales recently completed the redevelopment of the South East Centre for Contemporary Art (SECCA). The purpose-built space already has an extended agenda of local, regional, and touring art ahead, and it was launched last November with a visit from the Archibald Prize 2023, Australia’s premier portraiture exhibition.
Integral Lighting played a key role in SECCA’s transformation by supplying ERCO’s New Parscan spotlights, Oseris wallwashers, and a track lighting system to ensure optimal lighting for various exhibitions. The result is glare-free appreciation of the artworks, with just the right quantity of ambient light, creating a stress-free atmosphere for camaraderie throughout their exhibits.
